This uses an IP address and port number as the communications interface to the RM. The IP address used can only be local address's 127.0.0.1 to 127.255.255.255, on any unused port numbers, i.e. 1500. A session in Remote Manager must be setup with these details for communications to be successful.
Create a RM Galaxy session
1. Click on the [Sessions] menu item and select the [New] menu item. Remote Manager will display a new [Sessions Configuration] page.
2. Give the new session a name by entering a name in the [Session Name] edit box
3. Click on the [Session Type] drop down list and select [Galaxy IP] if you want Galaxy RSS to connect to a Galaxy panel or select [Galaxy RRI] if you want Galaxy RSS to handle incoming panel remote management connection.
4. Click on the [SSH Server 1 IP] edit box and enter the IP address of the PC that is running the SSH Server and WebWay's Gateway application.
5. Do the same for [SSH Server 2 IP].
6. Click on the [Save] button. Click on the [Modify] button and the [Edit properties] button. If the session type selected is "Galaxy RRI" then the following form will be displayed.
The client application connection details should contain its IP address (if running locally, then any 127 IP range will do) and the IP address port number.
7. If the session type selected is "Galaxy IP" then the following form will be displayed.
8. Select the [Any IP address] tick box and edit the [Port Number] to what you have chosen.
9. Make sure that you select the correct rule from the [Rules for conversion of IP address to Account\Site ID] list as it can depend on whether you are using the RM on an old system. If you are unsure, please contact WebWay Support for help.
10. Make sure the [Connection Mode] is set to "Communicator".
11. Click on the [Accept} button.
12. On the main display, click on the [Save] button. This session is now ready to run.
Create a site in Galaxy RSS
1. Open up the Galaxy Remote Servicing Suite application and enter your username and password. Click on [Site] and then on [Add new site]. The following form will be displayed:
Enter site details. Make sure the [Control Panel Account Number] is the same as in the Panel and the WebWay. When finished, click on the [Next>] button.
2. Enter details and then click on the [Next>] button and the following form will be displayed:
Fill in the [Remote IP Address - of the control panel] edit box with the local IP address associated with the account\site ID number. Remember the IP address is created from using the local address range combined with the account\site ID number from the panel using the conversion rule selected in RM.
With the [Complex Rule] selected, account\site ID 9865 is combined with the local IP address 127.x.x.x to make 127.0.98.65 (the 0 will be ignored)
3. Edit the [Remote Port Number] edit box with the port number you have set the RM to listen on.
4. Select the correct [Control Panel Type] then click on the [Next>] button and then the [Finish] button.
